How to Grow Blueberries
Blueberries bring a unique combination of delicious fruit and striking, year round ornamental beauty to the garden and landscape. They're relatively easy to grow and require minimal care. By following just a few basic steps, your blueberry plants will thrive for many decades and provide you with abundant fruit every year. Blueberries grow best in sunny locations with well-drained soil. While they prefer full sun, blueberries can tolerate partial shade. Ideal conditions for blueberries include loose, well-drained soil rich in organic material, and acidic soil with a pH level between 4.0 and 5.5.

Sustainable blueberry farming
Blueberry farming requires regular irrigation to grow the fruit into a beautiful, juicy berry. But of course, irrigation should be used intelligently. When natural rainfall is insufficient the berries grow best if the bushes receive precision irrigation: drops of water that go directly into the relatively small root zone. The amount of water flowing through this irrigation is adjustable.

How healthy are blueberries
Blueberries are made up of 84% water, 14% carbs (including sugars) and a little bit of protein and fat. We’re told it’s good for our overall health to eat a rainbow of fruit and vegetables, with blue or purple foods providing antioxidants from their anthocyanin pigments. The lab evidence for this is a little shaky, but what is certain is that blueberries contain a lot of important nutrients.
